Local store has a Bushmaster w/collapsible stock, upgraded pistol grip, flip down rear sight, sight rail and fluted 16 inch barrel. Wants about $1,300. It has the standard hand guard, basic carbine model with the stuff I mentioned. It looks like this one

A friend who is into black anti-communist rifles had suggested a Rock River Arms with an EOtech holosight but this one looks pretty good. I liked the looks of the Rock River Coyote model from the Net.

I like the light weight of the Bushmaster so I'm leaning towards it.

I picked up a 20 and 30 round mag for my mini-14 so I am OK for the short term unless I need more than a couple of hundred rounds.

Live free or die, motherfuckers!

Both companies make both styles. Quality wise, I'd give the nod to Rock River.

One of the stripped lowers I bought as a hedge against the election is an RRA. IF I build one of them out, that's the one I'll build out.

I say "IF" because I like my SIG 556 so much....

More an AK than an AR, but an AK built like a Swiss watch. ;)

If it was me I'd probably buy the Rock River with a 20" barrel and an A2 carry handle upper and skip the EOtech. I won't buy a rifle that doesn't have fixed open sights.

how about a "straight-up" M-16 semi-auto. thats it. last time I went shooting & I mean real shooting my climbing pal at the cell. co. owns a basic semi-auto. M-16 and was good enough I thought.

I vote for number two. I've never owned a Rock River but i have owned a Bushmaster. IMO Bushmaster was A-OK. I've heard Rock River is good too.
