I spent a couple of days in the windy city. Interesting town.

I am sitting at a table in the middle of Grande Luxe off Michigan ave when this brutha sidles up to me and starts chatting. he tells me that he saw me 10 minutes earlier outside (while I was on the cell phone) and he is rambling on about something or another. I am wondering what the hell he wants when he whispers that he has coke and wants to sell me some. Did I mention that this was right in the middle of a large upscale restaurant?
I was going to pull the trick I use when getting too much attention in Indian country where I talk into my sleeve and say things like: "Stand by", "Move In!" or "The package is waiting to be received".

So, does that happen a lot there?

talking into your sleeve...reminds me of a story:

My buddy is returning his cable box to TimeWarner in Jamaica Queens (talk about indian country). He calls me at work from his cell phone.

Pat, "what precinct are you in again"
me, "who is this"
Pat, "you're in the 112, right"
me, "oh, Hi Pat.. what's going on"

Pat, "Richie.. I'm in Jamaica by TimeWarner...I'm the only ..." and it goes on from there :-)

Believe it or not he walked out with "Triple play".
