You know, I fail to see any good coming out of "free trade." We have gutted the US so that a few people who hated the USA in the first place could do well by shipping jobs overseas.

and man that thing was fast.

The GTO gave you much more room. In fact, the GTO was good for a two-fer! :D

I always thought a TA with the Screaming Chicken was the quintessential redneck/white trash car. ;)

I've never understood why GM kept so many divisions for so long. Sure, at one point they all made different vehicles but once they started sharing the same body and just making minor changes to the interior and front/rear ends it seemed like a dumb idea to me. I think if they'd have been smart they'd have downsized to 2 or 3 divisions years ago.

with the eagle firebird on it. he was an austrian pro-skiier and prefered American cars to lets say porsche owned a few. my sister hated the firebird on the hood. "how fucking hoosier is that". good car though I got to drive it when I visited them in stateline,nv. kinda powerful.

They might keep GMC only so that the Cadillac and Buick dealers out in rural areas also have pick ups to sell. Otherwise just give up Chevy logo'd trucks, but I doubt you'd see that happen.

They used the say a GMC truck was a Chevy with lock washers. ;)

A buddy of mine had one of the first year Trans Ams with the shaker hood. Now that was a car. It was not only stupid fast, but handled great too. ;)

it was the official vehicle of India because it was named after Indians. I remember that. Nehru was running the country then.

I almost bought a Formula 400 in 1976. It was a Pontiac/ Datsun dealer and at the last minute I ended up getting another Z (the new 280-Z) at my girlfriend's urging.

I've owned two 67 GTO's an 83 Trans Am and a 92 Bonneville. Why not dump Buick and keep the Chief alive...

I had a '93 Bonneville. The fucking car was possessed. Interior lights would just come on and had to slam doors to get them off again. Dealers never could find the fucking problem. Other than that, it was a nice ride.

As for your other question, it's all because of China. Buick is a reaally big deal there. Driving a Buick in China is the equivalent of driving a Caddy here in the 1950s and 1960s. Shows you've really arrived. Especially that smaller Buick SUV. There's also some sedan that's in between the Le Sabre and the Park Avenue that's very prized there too.

Also, what would the old people here drive? Caddy's really lowered their median age buyer with the CTS and Escalade.

and couldn't have served me better. Put over 100K on the clock with little or no problems. Also, much quieter than the Jap or German shit and a lot bigger too, very comfortable. I really liked the car. Then I got a Jeep Cherokee, what a POS...

Any company that thought the Aztec was a good idea deserves to go out of business.
